LIBRARY POLICIES
Who May Use the Library
The main clientele of PUC library are students, lecturers, researchers
and administrators of the University.
There are three main categories:
(a) Those who can read and borrow from the collection:
i. Graduate and Teaching Assistants
ii. Undergraduate and non-degree students
iii. All Senior Members
iv. Senior Administrative and Technical Staff
v. Members of the University Council.
vi. National Service Personnel
Vii. Visiting scholars, Scientists and researchers
(b) Those who can use the library for reference only:
i. Abetifi community
ii. Alumni of the University
iii. University workers
iv. Spouses of PUC Staff

Preservation of Books
Every library user should assist in protecting the library materials as well as ensure their usefulness to other readers by using the library materials in a non-damaging manner.
PLEASE:
Do not write or cut or underline in library materials
Do not fold pages or insert bulky materials inside bound volumes
Do not attempt to repair library materials yourself. Bring them to the
attention of a library staff.
Food and Drink Policy
Smoking and eating are forbidden in the library.
Noise Policy
Silence should be observed in the library.
Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited. Offenders will be charged on the spot fine of 50 Gp.
Computer Use Policy
The use of computers in the library will be limited to one hour time slots and is accessed on a first come, first served basis. The computers are meant for research/academic purposes only. Users may not use their own software programmes or diskettes.. Sign in at the circulation desk before using the computer. If the computer freezes—ASK FOR HELP.
Overdue Policy
Overdue notices are mailed to readers one week following the material's due date.
This will alert the reader of the overdue items and fines owed. Fines begin accumulating on the first day the item is overdue.
Lost/ Damage Policy
Individuals who lose a book will be charged twice the current replacement cost of the book. Students will not be able to register for classes or get a transcript until unpaid fines are resolved. Readers will be held responsible for any damage to a book in their charge and they will be required to pay the appropriate cost.
In the case of Senior Officers a report will be made to the
Principal and Registrar for appropriate sanctions to be instituted
against him/her.
For non-University staff they will be denied use of the library
plus appropriate sanctions
