BORROWING LIBRARY MATERIALS
To check out a book, bring the book(s) to the circulation desk. Your ID card/Library card is used to borrow library materials. Materials will be checked out electronically to your account number and stamped with the date on which they are due back in the library.
Only books in the Lending Section may be borrowed. Reference books, reserve material and periodicals do not circulate and must be used in the library.
Other books are for in-house use. Current unbound and bound periodicals may be borrowed only with permission from the Librarian.
The period allowed for a book loan is two weeks but a
Reader can renew any book for a further period of two
weeks provided the book has not been reserved for another reader. Teaching staff may borrow for a Semester but the book(s) can be recalled after a month if circumstances so demand.
NUMBER OF BOOKS ON LOAN AT ANY TIME
The number of books readers are entitled to borrow from the Library are as follows:
Lecturers - 6 books
Part-time Lecturers - 4 books
Demonstrators - 3 books
National Servicemen 3 books
Postgraduate Students - 3 books
Undergraduate Students - 2 books
Senior Administrative Staff - 2 books
Junior Staff - 2 books
Affiliate members - 2 books
